| This was originally a sedan launched in 1952 by the Prince Motor Company. Ten members of staff took just a year to design a passenger vehicle and a truck, which resulted in the development of this sedan. The car was named the "Prince" because its release in 1952 coincided with the investiture of Crown Prince Akihito. The AISH, which was announced at the first Tokyo Motor Show in 1954, drew the attention of the then 20-year old Crown Prince (who became the Emperor of Japan in 1989), and it became his favorite vehicle. Maximum output was 45 ps, and the car featured the first synchromesh mechanism beyond second gear on a Japanese produced vehicle. |
